Why Massage For Horses?

Your horse’s muscles aren’t much different from your own. They become tight from overuse or poorly-balanced use. If a muscle can’t contract or fully release from a contracted state, your horse can’t move properly and his motion becomes limited. If a horse’s motion is limited (usually accompanied by some pain or discomfort), you’ll see an eventual decrease in his fitness levels. Plain and simple, fitness and comfort equal performance. Massage helps keep your horse in physical balance.

 Equine Massage Helps:

• Blood and lymph circulation

• Release muscles from spasm

• Increase range of motion

• Relax a horse and improve his emotional outlook

• Prevent injuries

• Speed recovery from muscle injury

 Massage is for:

• Almost any horse in training or who is hauled on a regular basis

• Broodmares

• Backyard horses that see a variety of use

• Retirees who deserve a kind touch

• Abused/neglected horses who need to learn trust

When NOT to massage:

• When some types of cancer are present

• If a horse has open sores, fungus or other skin infections

• If a horse has a fever or other signs of illness

• If a horse is lame or injured and has not had veterinary clearance. When in doubt, always consult your vet.

About Me

Horse massage - equine massage serviceObi & me

Aside from fawning over Obi, there are few things I'd rather do than work on someone's horse and see a positive change in the animal's movement and disposition.

I've been doing equine massage therapy in Colorado for four years. Because I split my time between Boulder and Breckenridge, I work the northern Front Range as well as the I-70 mountains. Call me at 970-390-2157 and let's talk about your horse.
